Alright, I’m just going to get this out of the way – I have never seen Rick And Morty. I have not watched a single episode. I have seen a few seconds of it while scrolling through Facebook, and something about a salesperson with ants in their eyes (gross), but I have never actually watched it. And I’m a proper nerd too, I should be all over it.
I have also never heard of the Rickmobile, but I saw it on Facebook and saw that it was going to be at a local distillery. Nerds and alcohol, can’t go wrong there. So I charged up the camera battery and headed out.
Turns out, the Rickmobile is a giant traveling merchandise stand. And an inflatable pickle? I’m certainly missing something there. The line was pretty epic to get to the stand, and some things were already out of stock by the time we got there. They did say on their Facebook event page to get there early for merch – they weren’t kidding.
Two food trucks were also on hand for food. A DJ was pumping tunes, and there was also a wailing inflatable thing.
I’m still not sure about the fascination with pickles. Gray Skies Distillery was serving up drinks inspired by the show – Dumb Grandson Pep Talk, Get Schwifty, and Pickle Rick. We ordered the Pickle Rick, and I tried a sip. It was disgusting. Pickles? In a drink? Y’all gross.
